FMY's OASIS Youth Halaqas serve a purpose true to their name; providing the Muslim youth with a safe haven to grow in their imaan and relationship with their Creator, free from judgment and scrutiny and with the support of youth just like them.

Under the supervision and leadership of young Muslim adults and an Islamically-minded curriculum, youth attendees will discuss the experiences familiar to the young Muslim American experience within an Islamic environment that will encourage God-mindedness in every aspect of their lives.

Youth are often pushed further and further away from Islam when their thoughts and experiences are met with harsh retaliation or complete negligence by community elders. FMY's OASIS halaqas provide a safe space for youth to foster their imaan without worry and with other youth they can relate to and that can support them in their journeys.

Each halaqa session is led by two youth leaders who use surahs from the Quran or pieces of Hadith to inspire conversations about how youth can use scripture and Islam in their everyday lives.

At the beginning of the session, youth leaders lead separate discussions for girls and boys groups using the same curriculum and topic; at the end of the session, groups are brought together under supervision for a full group Q&A portion.
Refreshments and materials are provided for all youth attendees free of charge!
